Going after other gods can get us into trouble. C1.3: About Talking to God and About God Talking to Us Subject: The 2nd and 3rd Commandments Themes: We should mean it when we call on God's name. God wants us to sit still long enough to hear the Word. C1.4: So That It May Go Well With You Subject: The 4th Commandment Themes: Parents are a gift from God as they provide for, protect, love and teach us. Parents and others in authority are to be given honor and respect. C1.5: Rules For Life Together Subject: The 5th-10th Commandments Themes: Commandments draw boundaries around a human behavior. Commandments 5-10 are gifts to help us live with ourselves and others. C1.6: The Old Covenant Subject: The Purpose of the Commandments (& Review) Themes: God wants what's best for us and wants to protect us from great harm.
