Catechism Set
Unit 1: The Ten Commandments
After an introduction to Catechism study, the video segments for this
unit are centered on individuals who tell about their struggles not
only with keeping the Ten Commandments, but remembering what they are.
These segments are heavily augmented with other material (in order to
avoid talking head syndrome).
Unit 2: The Apostles' Creed
God shows up in the most unlikely places. The video pieces for this
unit depict a handful of students who meet the Triune God over the Internet.
Did you know God has a web page? Did you know Jesus answers e-mail?
Did you know the Holy Spirit even moves through cyberspace to build
the church? Neither did we.
Unit 3: The Lord's Prayer
As we head into the next millennium, the art form of choice appears
to be the simply drawn (and somewhat puerile) animated cartoon. Not
to be outdone by the likes of King of the Hill, The Simpsons, Beavis
and Butthead, and South Park, Road Trip offers its own spiritually edifying
contribution to the genre: Lauds Prairie. Join two middle-schoolers
(Alice and Edwin) as they take you through the small town of Lauds Prairie.
Visit, among other places, Thy Name Church and Daily Bread Market.
Unit 4: The Sacraments
Who ever said science and religion where incompatible? In the six video
segments which make up this unit, you'll be introduced to the somewhat
unorthodox teaching style of Karl the Catechism Guy. Karl, implementing
a large number of object lessons, will introduce students to the Sacraments
of Baptism and The Lord's Supper. The last video segment involves Karl's
own experience with Confession and Absolution.
