Bible Set
Unit 1: Genesis (Old Testament,
Part 1)
After an introduction to the Bible as a whole, the videos for this unit
present the stories of the Creation, Adam and Eve, Noah and his family,
Abraham and Sarah, and Joseph and his family. In a return to the oral
tradition of these stories, we dug up some gifted storytellers, and
added some of our own illustration, to tell the tales which start off
the Old Testament.
Unit 2: Exodus through Exile (Old Testament, Part
2)
The story of the Hebrew people is well known. The video material for
this unit will draw parallels between ancient stories and modern events.
Bondage and Deliverance, the Wandering in the Wilderness, and the Entrance
into the Promised Land, as well as the endeavors of the Kings and Prophets,
each contain themes relevant to individuals, peoples, and nations today.
Here we use a little of everything: world history to personal testimonies,
images of current and past events, religious authorities to secular
pundits to bring the stories of the Old Testament to bear on life at
the turn of the new millennium.
Unit 3: Gospels and the Gospel (New Testament,
Part 1)
You will discover much new and original music in, under, and throughout
the Road Trip videos. In this unit, especially, music will be used not
only to underscore the stories, but to tell them. Forget Walking on
the Sun, we've got Waiting for the Son (sample lyric: Got a hidden agenda
for the rest of my life; It's our job to point to Jesus Christ). Who
needs MTV when you have Road Trip?
Unit 4: Acts, Epistles, The End (New Testament,
Part 2)
The videos in this unit tell the story of the Church; alternating between
the personal stories, events, and challenges of the new church 2,000
years ago and the stories, events, and challenges of those who make
up the church today. Particular attention is given to the testimonies
of young Christians who have been gripped by Christ and who continue
to wrestle with some of the tensions of the Christian walk described
in the Apostle Paul's letters: Faith vs. Works (Believing and Responsibility),
Flesh vs. Spirit (Conduct), and Jew vs. Gentile (Inclusivity).
