Road Trip is a Confirmation curriculum in two sets: Luther's Small Catechism and The Holy Scriptures. Each set comes in an attractive case containing 4 video tapes, 96 pages of printed material, and a manual to walk you through this new approach to Confirmation. Each video tape consists of six 5-minute video segments. Each video segment illustrates a particular lesson; that's 24 video segments with each set (Catechism and Bible). Printed material included with each set includes 24 copy-ready, double-sided worksheets, complete with discussion guides and take-home activities for families, as well as presentation ideas for each lesson, and a how-to manual to help you organize and tailor Road Trip to suit your congregation's particular Confirmation needs. The writer/producer of Road Trip is Rev. Hans Wiersma, an ELCA pastor. He has been involved with youth ministry since 1982. Road Trip is born out of the author's own experience as a pastor teaching 7th and 8th grade confirmation classes. Wiersma is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Church History at Luther Seminary, focusing on Martin Luther. Other writing efforts include the Washing in the Word and Eating and Drinking in the Word videos, both from Augsburg Fortress.
